Hosting (Cloudflare)

This site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). Like any web server, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request data in short-lived server logs to deliver the site and prevent abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Analytics (only with consent)

If you accept our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which articles are useful. This sets cookies and processes your IP address and browsing behavior on this site. Recipient is Google Ireland Ltd.; data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If you reject or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), withdrawable at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Article previews (Medium)

Our own server (a Cloudflare Worker) fetches our public Medium RSS feed on your behalf, so that request is not linked to you. Article thumbnail images, however, are loaded by your browser directly from Medium's CDN, so Medium (A Medium Corporation, USA) receives your IP address. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in displaying our articles (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Retention

Google Analytics user-level data is retained for 2 months (the GA4 default). Your consent choice is stored in your browser's local storage until you change it or clear your browser data.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time.
